Jazz level I/II/III is comprised of bold, dramatic, and rhythmic movements. Class begins with an extensive warm-up and stretching working on increasing dancers' flexibility. In this level, dancers will be introduced to leaps, turns, and stylized movement to upbeat and current music. Though our teachers use current music EDA prides itself on keeping all music appropriate. Students will not only work on their technique and flexibility in this class they will also learn small combinations to get them ready to memorize recital dances later in the year.

Ballet I/II/III is a formal dance style that focuses on graceful, precise steps and gestures to convey emotions or tell a story. Ballet is the foundation for all dance styles. It will develop strength, flexibility, balance, grace, poise, and discipline. Barre work and center floor work will be taught along with terminology. Dancers in these classes will have to opportunity to participate in our recitals throughout the year.

Hip Hop Level I/II/III is high-energy and fun for both guys and girls who want to learn some “Old School” style influenced by Modern Day choreographers. Classes include conditioning and warm-up, simplified breakdown of each dance step, skill combinations, and choreography. Movements and music are age-appropriate. Dancers will have an opportunity to participate in our recitals throughout the year.

Level I/II/III Lyrical uses music to translate emotion into movement, Lyrical is very fluid and utilizes aspects of ballet and jazz dance. Dancers are required to take a ballet class when enrolled in Lyrical. Dancers are challenged to find meaning behind the music and connect that to the choreography. Dancers are taught to use smooth transitions between movements and incorporate breath into their dance. Students are asked to draw upon their own experience to relate to the music and choreography and use the encounter to grow as a dancer. Dancers will have an opportunity to perform in our recitals throughout the year.

Level I/II/III Tap class is designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. Dancers will have an opportunity to perform in our recitals throughout the year.
